Judith B. Tankard is an art historian specializing in landscape history. She taught at the Landscape Institute of Harvard University for more than twenty years and is the author or co-author of ten books on gardens, including her latest book, Ellen Shipman and the American Garden, that recounts the life one of America’s premier landscape architects.
